Q: I do not understand the last 3 options regarding period (number of periods, compounding period, payments per period). There is no help feature on this app to explain the different options.

A: Typically the interest rate is noted on annual basis i.e. per Year (Rate for Period in this app) over a specified term (Number of Periods in this app).

If interest is compounded yearly, then Compounding Times per Period (in this app) = 1, if semi-annually, then it = 2, quarterly, then = 4, monthly, then = 12, and so forth.

There are also different options for payments as you can pay monthly, semi-monthly i.e. 12, 24 Payments per Period etc.

For flexibility's sake the interest rate in this app can be expressed not only as annual (Period can be a month for example), all other variables should be adjusted accordingly.
